sg-ntu-dr.10356-472632023-03-11T17:19:31Z Study of heat transfer in heat pipes for micro-satellite applications Arthanareswaran Dineshkumar. Sunil Chandrakant Joshi School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering DRNTU::Engineering::Mechanical engineering 119 p. Heat exchange is the most widely applied concept in many systems to maintain thermal equilibrium including satellites. There are several sources of heat in space. The radiation of the sun over the portion of the satellite facing the sun, electronic equipments within the satellite, sun albedo and IR radiations from the earth surface result in severe temperature scenario for the satellite. In order to provide uniform distribution of heat within the satellite, heat exchanger is required which can be placed or mounted within the substrates (mainly panels) of various satellite units. Generally heat pipes are used as heat exchangers; they exchange the heat from higher temperature region to the lower temperature region to attain uniform heat distribution within the satellite substrates.
