Carbon nanotubes (CNT) are interesting materials for fabricating nanodevices because of their unique properties, dimensions and structures. In this project the alignment of a carbon nanotube network by fluidic alignment has been studied. The carbon nanotubes were assembled on electrodes in millimeter-scale surface areas by combining a fluidic alignment with soft lithography techniques. The results observed show that single wall nanotubes (SWNTs) filled the channel by capillary action and aligned the CNTs in the process. The alignment of carbon nanotubes was controlled by the number of SWNTs used and the time taken for processing. The CNT solution was prepared using sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) as a surfactant.
