The name "endoscope" is derived from two Greek words, which are endom(within) and skopein(view). The endoscope is an optical instrument used for viewing inaccessible places like small and narrow parts of the car(industrial purposes) or the internal organs(biomedical purposes). The flexible endoscope which is also referred to as a fiberscope, made use of a bundle of precisely aligned flexible optical fibers is used to transmit images. Such flexible micro images guides are currently finding tremendous applications in engineering.
