sg-ntu-dr.10356-473462024-01-12T10:12:44Z A review of an organisation's performance management system for the non-executive employees following a revision of its compensation strategy Ang, Saw Khim Wee Beng Geok Nanyang Business School Hesan Ahmed Quazi DRNTU::Business::Management 119 p. The business environment today is highly competitive, an age where high performing organisations survive while the life-spans of low performing organisations are limited. In order not to be ousted out of the game by competitors, organisations are taking a serious view of their performances. Ultimately, the success of organisations hinge on the performance of their employees. Thus, Performance Management is an area of interest for many companies. However, not all organisations are able to correctly identify the factors they should focus on when it comes to Performance Management. Some focus on the techniques like the kind of rating scales and the design of the forms, but neglect the key issue of what the Performance Management system should look like and the operation of the system. Instead, attention should be paid to the linkages between the Performance Management system and the business strategy, the leadership, the integration with other Human Resource subsystems and the process of Performance Management itself.
