An interesting aspect of the increased participation of people in this movement has been the active involvement of women in the movement. Women, who in the early decades of the formation of the Hindu Right wing organizations, remained largely invisible, have been engaging with the violence associated with the movement, carving out an independent "feminine" discourse within the larger patriarchal movement.
