Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by irreversible progressive neurodegeneration of which the cause remains elusive. To address this problem, recently Dr Klaus Heese and his group have performed cDNA subtractive hybridization of brains from AD patient and normal subjects and identified several new proteins. In the present study, previously identified novel proteins, MANI and p60TRP were functionally characterised to identify their association with AD.
