Summary: | This report documents the process of conceptualizing and implementing the Computerized Tuition Question Generation System (CTQGS) for a client, a private tutor who wished to start a tuition centre. Faced with limited budget and resources, the client turned to the development team to create the system he needs. The client’s original manual system, while providing customization on a small scale, was extremely inefficient, hence the need for a scalable automated system. After helping to identify the objectives and requirements of the client, the team proceeded to design and develop the system, which was delivered to the client at the end of 2011. After completing the project, the team identified the importance of effective communication with the client, good business strategy, and the application of IT as an enabler to create a competitive advantage, as some of their key learning points. Recommendations have also been made as to how the software could be adapted to increase its marketability in a wider market, locally and regionally. Some of these include providing support for multiple languages and converting CTQGS to an online platform. |
