新加坡贤能、精英以及多元种族主义体系的焦点讲求的是一个不偏袒的公平竞争制度，以个人能力作为衡量标准，而拥有最高能力的一群人则将被视为“精英”，然而这“公平”的制度却长期以来备受学者们讨论与批判。根据以上所提的现象，此论文将探讨在一个由精英主义、贤能主义和多元种族主义三者鼎立的新加坡体系里，华族在籍大学生对当今体系持有的态度与表态。主要范畴即将围绕着他们对精英主义的理解和偏见，而本论文也将以中国的“外来人才”为其中的研究方向，尝试了解在新加坡精英主义体系下，华族大学生如何看待自身的族群身份以及此身份所因而带来的影响。Singapore’s system of Meritocracy, Elitism and Multi-Racialism has its’ focus on a non-bias and fair competition, in which individual abilities served as the benchmark for being an “Elite”. Yet, this supposedly “fair” system has constantly been a topic of debate and criticism among academia researchers. Based on the discussion above, this thesis sought to understand the perception of Singaporean Chinese Undergraduates have on their local system of Meritocracy, Elitism and Multi-Racialism. The main focus will be on their views and opinions on Elitism, and this research will also have its’ direction steered towards the Chinese “foreign talent” from China, in order to have a clearer understanding of how the Singaporean Chinese Undergraduates felt of their own Chinese Ethnic-Identity and the possible influence it might resulted in.
