严歌苓最为受文学界瞩目的作品莫过于她一系列的离散小说。本身身为一名离散者，严歌苓对于这类题材的描写特别能触动人心，引起共鸣，并且具有独特的跨文化意义。身居美国期间，严歌苓曾因为不适应环境患上失眠症。接受了心理治疗的她，对心理学特别感兴趣。其中，严歌苓尤深受佛洛依德理论的影响。不难发现，她的作品中处处斑驳着佛洛依德的理论之痕迹。本篇主要以佛洛依德的人格精神分析理论来解构严歌苓在《女房东》中建构的空间架构与多重的人物对立关系，以作故事中所参透的离散意识之分析。Yan Ge-Ling‟s series of Diaspora novels have garnered the attention of the literature world. As a Diaspora herself, Yan Ge-Ling‟s works on this genre have been known for its ability to resonate and touch the hearts of many people. Her unique identity has also certainly embodied her works with a unique cross-cultural significance. While she was living in America, Yan Ge Ling suffered from insomnia due to difficulties in adapting to the new environment. She received psychotherapy and which later got her interested in the field psychology. She became heavily influenced by Sigmund Freud. Traces of Freud‟s theories can be easily detected in most of her works. This thesis focuses on Freud‟s psychoanalytic theory to analyze the usage of space and the multiple antagonistic relationships between the different characters in The Landlady, in which in turn offers a more in-depth discussion on the concept of Diaspora.
