Description
Summary:Electronic Commerce (E-commerce) and was a viable proposition for IT developer to work on. But solutions are simply obtainable in the market. To continue progress in this domain, a more suitable approach was to select a solution and developed extension features to refine its solution. Magento was singled out among many solutions and analyzing was carried to find areas that required amendments. Four crucial features, Social network, Security, Analytics and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) were analyzed and later found absent or inadequate in Magento. Extension features were then required to implement to resolve the problems. Using an Iterative and Increment Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), I started ameliorating on these four areas starting from the easiest development to the hardest. Social network features was developed to latch onto the social networking sites to generate brand awareness and provided free advertising. Security was enhanced by blocking automated actions that degraded web service. With the integrating of several promising systems like Google analytics and vTiger, analyzing of the website traffic and managing interactions with customers and sales were catered in Magento. With these extension features installed, it fixed up the missing critical functionality, enhanced on existing features and reduced efforts to perform certain daily routines.
