Summary:The advantages of having pharmacy information systems are to allow pharmacists, pharmacy technician and nurse-in-charge have ease of usage, to keep track and maintain the medication stock in an organized and efficient manner. This system will also allow them to review and manage patients’ medication history. Patients can also search for drugs for more information in the systems and Pharmacist can add, edit, delete and view the list of items in the system when necessary. A patient’s health report can be generated if request by the patient. This report consists of patient’s particular information such as name, address, next-of-kin contact particular information, and patient’s health medical records and the corresponding prescribed drugs for the patient. With this system, it helps to improve medication delivery and enhance patients’ safety – and this results in a reduction of patients’ medication collection time. Report data generation is also possible in this system for higher management to review. Data such as the list of expired drug with their corresponding quantity can be shown in the report, patient’s health records can also be generated upon patient’s request. In addition, email notifications will be sent based on pre-configured configuration. Email like inventory email alert will be sent to pharmacists or person-in-charge to notify them of the different inventory item threshold, lists consists of the already expired stock items will also be sent to the pharmacists. A technical documentation has also been created in order to allow the future developers to incite into the technical operation of the final solution. Also, a few enhanced features have been identified and should consider for implementation in future.
