Description
Summary:Grid Computing is an evolving discipline in the field of Distributed Computing, whose main focus is on large-scale resource sharing for serving high-end innovative applications. What makes Grid Computing distinguished from conventional Distributed Computing is the geographical distribution and heterogeneity of resources, users and applications as well as the highly dynamic nature of Grid environment. What further complicate the matters are its stringent requirements for adaptability and scalability. Achieving high performances in such environments is not trivial. Effective scheduling plays an important role in determining the overall performance of the system. Therefore, scheduling in Grid Computing has been a key subject of research ever since its evolution.
