Summary: | Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology was introduced in Los Alamos National Laboratory in 1973. Back then, it was designed to be used in transportation, banking, security and medical purposes as a passive radio transponder with storage for memory. It is the processor of the IFF transponder during World War II, 1948 to identify if the aircraft was a friend or foe. Today, we see the use of this technology in many areas of the society. For example in Singapore, it is used in the Electronic Road Pricing system (ERP), the EZ-link card and in animal tagging.
In this project, we will be focusing on the implementation of the RFID system in a restaurant. Together with the use of the Visual Basic .Net, we can help ease the work of an employee. Also, we will talk about the use of UDR 6061 RFID Desktop Reader together with Microsoft Visual Basic .Net 2005 by creating custom Dynamic Link Library (DLL) file. |
