These cases often escalate to an extent whereby the residence becomes extremely dangerous or unsanitary for both the people living in and around. This project started from personal experience, when repeated complaints from family brought the realization that it was a serious condition. It was causing distress and tension in family relations. Investigating into the factors in compulsive hoarding and the psychological state of mind of those affected by it, this project seeks to express views on hoarding everyday objects and actualise each of dreams and potential of each item. The value and meaning of an object to an individual is a very personal view, different to everyone else. In hoarders, there is an even larger disparity between the value they assign to their objects and that which the rest of the world perceives. Negotiating and closing up this difference in perceived value could be a means of understanding and resolving the conflict that arises out of these contrasting viewpoints. In the course of this project, Dispojective aims to convert a collection of personal items into designed objects, emphasizing on their value and bringing in functionality and aesthetics into these objects of desire.
