Chang Kuiyu School of Computer Engineering Centre for Advanced Information Systems DRNTU::Engineering::Computer science and engineering::Information systems::Information storage and retrieval This FYP report describes the author's fruitful experience in the course of joining the sentiment analysis software developer team under the code name 'ROSE' (Review & Opinion Search Engine) as both the front-end and back-end developer. This report in general discusses and compares the choice of software/frameworks used, their alternatives and comparative analysis of each decision made, the problems face during the design and development phase, and their corresponding solutions. The main focus for the report will be the detailed design and implementation of adding social media functionality to both ROSE's iOS client & web platform. In addition, the report will also cover the design and implementation of the basic REST1 web services for ROSE in order to expose ROSE's functionality as services, which can then be consumed by other clients without the need to know the internals. With the help from referencing previous work done in the iOS mobile client, the frameworks available out there for social site integration, and the great supervision from the supervisor, the author was able to exceed his limitation and did his very best to accomplish the objectives. Hopefully, these contributions to the ROSE platform will make it into a successful engine.
