Summary: | Declining fertility is a common problem faced by many developed countries including Singapore. Through this study, we seek to identify the main causes of Singapore’s declining fertility and then suggest new policies and modifications to the current policies to alleviate the problem. We conducted a survey to understand the family planning decisions of Singaporeans. We observed that current government policies are mostly concerned with cost factors so we have recommended other policies to deal with other aspects of the problem of declining fertility rate. We hope that our findings will be useful to reverse the downward trend of Singapore’s fertility rate. |
