An animated film is a time-based story-telling medium that gives the creator the possibility to establish interaction between an infinite range of characters in any possible environments perceived by human creativity and imagination. As much as it can pull off any form of story, it can also incorporate a limitless choice of visual styles into storytelling, hence enhanced the effect and impact brought to the audience. The short film, Effulgence, is an example of animated films that focuses on visual stylization on top of storytelling, to create a beautiful and memorable film experience. This report details the process of the creation of the animated short - from its conceptualization, development to production and finally, completion, along with discussions on problems faced during the production and their respective resolutions.
