Summary: | The feasibility of using Marine Clay and Marine Clay – Copper Slag mixture as aggregates replacement in concrete were explored in this project.
The feasibility of such replacement is dependent on the workability and strength properties of the concrete which will be determined through the slump and compression strength tests conducted on the different sets of specimens.
The project is divided into two segments with the first segment investigating the feasibility of using of marine clay as a fine and coarse aggregate to replace sand and granite respectively in concrete production.
The second segment is a joint experiment with another group, investigating the feasibility of using marine clay – copper slag mixture as a coarse aggregate to replace granite in concrete production. The report will only contain Methodology, Experimental Results, Results Discussion and Recommendations for Future Work regarding the second segment of the experiment. |
