Description
Summary:The Log of Charlie Ming stems from the artist’s discovery of potential consequences that could arise from prevalent gender issues. It also revolves around her interest in changing the construct of gender representation in art. The artist envisages the life of one man at the mercy of a patriarchal society. It essentially looks at a culture’s constant dream of a ‘utopian’ world and the effects on the human individual. Through the intricate construction of dioramas, deliberate staging and lighting; the lines between reality and illusion are blurred. These invented realities are an alternative approach to understanding the consciousness of our times.
