Description
Summary:The act of waiting is to stay where one is or delay action until a particular time or until something else happens. Contrary to its apparent implication, The Waiting Room is an installation that aims to stimulate action and reaction within those in wait, to cultivate a sense of urgency to take action in lieu of waiting for an indefinite time to occur. Stemming from its preliminary explorations of time and its myriad of definitions, the project sets to question ones relationship to time—Is it passive or active? Are we governing time or being governed by it? The Waiting Room, in view of our tendency to lose governance of time, projects a common space for its visitors to explore and realize the importance to take control of their personal time and space. It serves as a constant reminder of our liberty to construct the value and meaning in time.
