The number of people who will develop Alzheimer's disease is expected to go up as Singapore's population ages. We look at this illness, its impact on Singapore, and assess how ready the nation is to battle the disease. With the baby boomer generation in Singapore being defined as those born between 1947 and 1964 (aged 48 to 65 now), better educated and more affluent, a majority of them are expected to be financially secure as they age. With this changing profile of elderly in Singapore, we focused on how caring for this group of people, especially those implicated with a neurological disease like Alzheimer’s Disease, will change in the future.
