Description
Summary:Green roof is able to offer several benefits to the environment which includes reducing the urban storm water runoff, mitigating the urban heat island effect, reducing the energy consumption of a building and improving the air quality in the urban region. A green roof test bed is to be designed and constructed in Nanyang Technological University, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Block N1 roof. This study will report the design of the green roof test bed and utilization of the green roof hydrology model simulation by using the Singapore meteorological data to predict the interception, rainfall runoff infiltration and evapotranspiration in a green roof. With the analysis from the result of the simulation, a future study could be carried out to compare the accuracy of the predicted data with real time monitoring data. Subsequently, the real time data will be used to provide additional support to the various case studies made on the benefits of a green roof.
