Arbitration as a form of dispute resolution has received much international attention. With its particular features and advantages, arbitration has become a widely accepted dispute resolution method for the maritime industry. Maritime arbitration in Singapore was established much later compared to European countries. With London receiving more than 90% of the maritime arbitration cases, much is needed to be done in order for Singapore to compete with London as an internationally recognized maritime arbitration centre. Therefore, we need to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of Singapore in promoting herself as a maritime arbitration centre and make recommendations to improve it. With extensive literature review and interviews with shipping professionals, we found out the different ways to promote Singapore's maritime arbitration.
