Battery plug-in electric vehicle concept design : (motor-drive train and batterypack)

The awareness of saving the environment is increasing significantly recently. The increasing amount of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere has caused drastic climate change. One of the biggest contributors of these gasses is the pollution emitted by vehicle. The internal combustion engine (ICE) vehi...

The increasing amount of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere has caused drastic climate change. One of the biggest contributors of these gasses is the pollution emitted by vehicle. The internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle burns fossil fuel to produce energy emitting substances that is harmful to human health. Moreover, the internal combustion engine has very low efficiency of 37%. While the fossil fuel is getting more and more scarce, a more efficient locomotion needs to be implemented. One possibility is to replace the internal combustion engine with battery-powered electric motor, or more often called as electric vehicle (EV). Compared to internal combustion engine, electric motor has a much higher efficiency that 85% efficiency can be reached quite easily.
