Summary: | The aim of this project is to develop an accurate Lithium-Ion battery model and carry out SOC estimation based on the model proposed. It will be used in the Energy Management System (EMS) for electrical vehicles (EV). It is an important area of research and development as the electrical vehicles have proofed their advantages of energy saving as well as environmental protection and being widely used all over the world. State of Charge (SOC) estimation is an increasingly important issue in EMS of electric vehicles. The EMS should be able to estimate the battery state accurately and nondestructively. This project investigates different Lithium-Ion battery modeling using MATLAB/Simulink and a more accurate battery model will be proposed. Based on the proposed battery model, SOC will be estimated using Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) algorithm. The estimated SOC shows high consistency with the actual one. |
