Description
Summary:As Singapore’s ageing situation worsens, there is increasing awareness that seniors can be valuable assets capable of being put to productive use. The “baby boomers”born between 1947 and 1964, represent the leading edge of this coming age wave. Singapore is beginning to understand the importance of active ageing, whereby health becomes a main determinant of quality of life in later years. Therefore it has erected numerous initiatives to promote continual physical and mental stimulation among the elders. However, societal, psychological and infrastructural limitations have dampened the momentum of these initiatives. Therefore we seek to update public’s perception and inspire with stories of individuals who proved that active ageing is not beyond reach.
