總結:This report is a summary of two-semester Final Year Project (FYP) with School of Electrical & Electronics. The objectives of this FYP are to study the existing photovoltaic (PV) system in the Clean Energy Research Laboratory (LaCER) to identify the problems associated with the system and provide a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) for the PV system. The PV characteristics are simulated with MATLAB Simulink, where the I-V and P-V characteristics are obtained from the simulation. The characteristics are then used inputs as the CHROMA programmable DC source which act like a PV panels connecting to the hardware. The MPPT technique that was used in this project is Perturb and Observation (P&O) method. Various simulations and testing were conducted before implementing the MPPT on the actual hardware configuration. The implementation was a success and the system was able to track up to 96.37% of power efficiency. In the last part of this project, studies research have been carried out to determine the feasibility of using National Instruments (NI) equipments and LABVIEW to replace the existing DSpace controller. The results are positive with the availability of NI-DAQ (data acquisition) equipments and SIT (Simulation Interface Toolkit).
