Radar has wide range of military and civilian applications. Typical uses include but not limited to air-defense system, air traffic control, weather forecast and ground imaging for geological observations. In this project, a MATLAB Radar Toolbox has been further developed based on previous FYP efforts. Computer simulations have been very useful to study theories of front-end technologies, as the case with this project which is to utilize computer simulations to test out and demonstrate modern radar concepts and working principles. Typical aspects of radar application are modeled, including radar signal generation, propagation channels, target detection, antenna beamforming, estimate of direction of arrival and remote-sensing high-resolution ground mapping (SAR). The radar toolbox will be heavily user-interface based, making it more intuitive and presentable than simply using script programming. Nevertheless, the theories and technical knowledge behind are illustrated in details in this report. Overall, the Radar Toolbox developed will be a helpful tool for users who want a good start with the interesting technology of modern radar.
