Description
Summary:This report summarizes my experience and knowledge gained during the commitment of the final year project which is developing a C++ based gesture-based human computer interaction (HCI) program. Nowadays human body detection and human-computer interaction technology developed rapidly and more widely used in people’s daily life, such as Kinect, Wii, etc. However specific medium console, Xbox 360, for instance, is required for these equipments. In order to increase the compatibility in personal computer, the application developing is becoming a rising subject. By comparing and contrasting, a C++ software platform, OpenNi, which is most appropriate to meet this project’s requirements, has been chosen. After installation and configuration of all the necessary software include OpenNi, NITE, PrimeSense, OpenCV, I attempt to analysis the human skeleton, detect and track the gesture, control the mouse pointer movement with OpenNi and do the gesture recognition with OpenCV. The researching progress and code with explanation will be represent in the report, the shortage and future work has been discussed at the end.
