Description
Summary:Touch interface is the latest innovation of tangible human computer interface. All commercialized technologies nowadays are both expensive and restricted in mobility for big screen applications. “Speech, Touch and Acoustic Tangible Interfaces for Next-generation Applications” (STATINA) aims to break the restrictions for touch technology. Localization estimation is based on calculating the time differences of arrival from tap source to sensors. Due to the nature of technology, the existing system is also able to capture off-plane signal and attempt to localize the signal. This project targets to have better understanding of the off-plane signal and explore possible solutions to filter out the unexpected data. Three areas were studied: signal properties, 3-D TDOA localization, Auto-regression modeling for detecting voice signals. Simulation experiments in matlab are based on the real time data collected during experiment. Results on various experiments also provide extrapolations for off-plane signal behaviors. It provides foundation and opens the gate for future investigation to solve the problem.
