Description
Summary:In the past nine months, the author devoted herself fully to the Final Year Project, De-reverberation of Echoy Speech- Stop talking as if you are talking through a hollow. She had a chance to research room acoustic multipath effect, conduct hands-on experiments of room impulse response, and implement the inverse filtering principle, Multiple iput/output INverse Theorem (MINT). Upon the end of the project, the author has learnt a lot in the aspects of Matlab coding, the audio signal processing techniques and matrix convolution. In this report, the author will firstly introduce the basic background information of acoustic reverberation effect and knowledge of inverse filtering. Then she will present her hands-on experiment of measuring room impulse response which was conducted in an empty and echoy tutorial room. Moving forward, the author will cover and highlight the MINT algorithm and its implementation in Matlab environment, the author shall summarize the report by discussing her gained expertise and knowledge in the project.
