Summary: | The purpose of this report is to provide a summary of what the author has learned and done in this simulation study of an Ejector-based Multi-Evaporator Refrigeration System (EMERS).In the shipping and food processing industries, three types of temperatures, 18°C - 25°C, 5°C - 10°C, -20°C are often required for space cooling, perishable food, and for freezing food respectively. It would be costly to have N refrigeration systems to cater for N applications. Therefore, Multi-Evaporator Refrigeration System (MERS) could be used. However, MERS has issues with the COP, i.e. pressure loss. EMERS can be a solution to the COP by recovering (15% more) as much pressure lost in the system as possible. The key component in improving the COP using EMERS is the ejector. Therefore the simulation study, analysis of the ejector’s performance shall be subject that shall be focused in this project. |
