Description
Summary:The use of membrane filtration for water purification has received increasing attention due to a growing emphasis on sustainability and a heightening global demand for access to clean water. Against this backdrop, this study proposes to synthesise heterostructured SrTiO3/TiO2 nanofiber through a continuous electrospinning and hydrothermal method for water purification purposes. The as-fabricated heterostructures composite consists of SrTiO3 nanocubes which are assembled uniformly on the surface of electrospun TiO2 nanofibers. First, it is observed from the experimental results that the formation of the strontium titanate (SrTiO3) nanocubes on the TiO2 nanofiber was greatly influenced by the ion concentration and alkalinity of the precursor solution. Without doubt, this formation has affected the photocatalytic performance of the synthesised nanofiber.
