Description
Summary:According to an escalating demand for high performance industrial machinery and technological developments in power electronics within past two decades, the rapid developments and research in digital motor control has been important However, sometime it is difficult to determine which technique is best suited to a particular application. Among various electric motors nowadays, induction motor is used as a variable speed drive in many industrial applications. In this case induction motor is fed by a current controlled inverter system. Pulse Width Modulation technique is used to derive switching sequence for the inverter system. Closed loop control of induction motor utilizes the proportional integral speed and current controllers. An indirect vector control approach is employed for this inverter system. The performance analysis of a vector controlled cage induction motor drive is studied. The model are implemented and performed by using Simulink of MATLAB to observe the simulation results. The simulated response of an induction motor will be presented in different conditions of operation.
