Description
Summary:Nowadays, smartphone cameras are replacing digital camera with their comparable speed in capturing photos as well as quality of the photos to a digital camera. Furthermore, people carry smartphone with them everywhere they go. This enables them to capture quick, fun moments at any point of time. However, the photos that are saved are kept in a single location in the smartphones and this lead to the problem in browsing for a photo within the pool of photo. Furthermore, privacy is also another concern. When sharing an event to the user’s friends and families, the user might reveal non-related and private photos since the photos are stored in the same location. This work presents a fast and simple app called Auto Group Album, for automated grouping of photos captured by the camera on a smartphone. The proposed app uses metadata to group the photos and includes the ability to modify the post-grouped albums. The techniques used in the proposed app are spatial clustering and temporal segmentation techniques whereby the techniques join closely related photos into clusters as an event.
