Description
Summary:Digital Video Broadcasting is an industry-led association of around 200 over broadcasters, manufacturers, network operators, software developers, regulatory bodies and others in many countries which are committed to design open technical standards for the global delivery of digital television and data services. In Singapore, televisions are strictly regulated by government. Mediacorp TV monopolizes on terrestrial television channels like Channel 5, 8 and Channel News Asia. Starhub is the sole cable operator. To receive free-to-air channels, one must connect antenna to the computer. This signal may not be stable unlike cable TV. DVB-T has the ability to broadcast higher resolution pictures compared to analog TV by using lower bandwidth. This is due to MPEG compression. Besides that, my project will touch on High Definition channel streaming as HD is a must for to view high quality and high resolution videos. More on High Definition (HD) channels will be discussed.
