Security issues in cognitive radios

With the increasing demand for spectrum, Cognitive Radios are expected to become an important part of the overall wireless networking. However, little focus has been received in an important technical area in the cognitive radio paradigm, which is the wireless security issue. The cognitive radio par...

However, little focus has been received in an important technical area in the cognitive radio paradigm, which is the wireless security issue. The cognitive radio paradigm brings in entirely new classes of security threats and challenges. Furthermore, as cognitive radio paradigm are wireless in nature, they face all classic threats present in the conventional wireless networks. Providing strong security is the key to success, but it may prove to be the most difficult aspect of making cognitive radio a long-term commercially-viable concept. This report will be discussing on the topic of security issues in Cognitive Radio. As well as identifying potential vulnerabilities along with potential mitigation approaches.
