Description
Summary:The notion of micro unmanned aerial vehicle in the aerospace industry is relatively new and the main challenge usually lies in creating one that is as small, compact and light as possible. In this report, the design and development of one such vehicle, particularly a ducted unmanned aerial vehicle, will be presented. Approaches to the design such as parts sizing, thrust test experiments and parts placements will be discussed in this paper. The development is currently in the conceptual phase, whereby a prototype model has already been prepared and soon to be manufactured. It will serve as a proof of concept to demonstrate its feasibility in flight operation such as hovering. With the prototype model, more experiments and analysis can be carried out to further improve the design, thereby bringing the development to a more mature stage. Only then will the payload of the vehicle can be decided and integrated together to create a purpose and sense of functionality.
