Description
Summary:Modern wireless communications system usually employ non-constant envelop modulation techniques, for instance, QPSK (Quadrature Phase Shift Keying) and QAM (Quadrature amplitude modulation). To amplifier the non-constant envelop signals, the power amplifiers in the transmitter are required to be linear. Further, as the power amplifier is usually the most power-dissipative block in the wireless transceiver, it is imperative that the power-efficiency of the power amplifier is high.
