Summary: | Inflatable gas bags are used in gas distribution operations and maintenance by Singapore Power (SP) as non-hazardous method to stop the low pressure gas flow in live gas mains. Due to the nature of its function, the gas bag will be constantly inflated and deflated, generating unwanted negative effects on the gas bag. Therefore, it is important to understand how these undesirable effects, namely fatigue and prolonged storage, affect the lifespan of the Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) gas bag. This forms the aim for this project. |
