Description
Summary:This final year report focused on the design and fabrication of a mechnanical alignment device which assists in the bonding process between PDMS layers. The alignment device is designed to be mounted onto a inverted microscope. By incorporating precision translating and rotating stages, aligning of the PDMS layers are made easier and the aligning outcome is satisfying. Entire process involving the standard engineering design procedures and dimensioning of the device prototype is documented in different chapters, namely are conceptual, embodiment and detail design. Lastly, upon completion of the alignment device, comparison were made between manual alignment and usage of the fabricated alignment device.
