Due to the dynamic nature of the shipping market, it is important to study the feedback from both the previous MS graduates and the industry in order to review and improve the current MS programme continuously and to stay relevant. Moreover, because of the relative novelty of the programme, the insights from the alumni and industry would be very helpful guidance to the future batches of graduates, as to let them be better prepared and informed about the market conditions, the hiring patterns in the industry and the prospective career outlook. Due to a depressed market sentiment at the time of writing, the report may be very relevant to the 2012 graduates (including the author) who are currently worrying about the employment prospects after the graduation in this coming month of May.
