Li Hoi Yeung School of Biological Sciences DRNTU::Science To Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioners, clinical skills and acupuncture techniques are of great importance. However, due to the limitations of space in the training clinic and the tight curriculum, the quality of internship for the TCM interns from School of Biological Sciences was being compromised. In this project, we had identified some major problems faced by the students through a focus group study and proposed the use of multimedia tools as a solution. The problems included students facing difficulties watching demonstrations carried out by the clinical instructors, the fast pace of lessons and the lack of visual aids to help in understanding. Thus, we conceptualized and produced a video training aid, with the aim of helping the students grasp the required acupuncture skills through E-Learning. A survey was later done to evaluate the effectiveness of the video. It was found that the students showed increased confidence in their acupuncture skills and knowledge after watching the video. The results also showed that the idea of video training aids was very popular with the students. Hence, there is great potential in developing on the idea of making such multimedia teaching aids to enhance the students’ learning.
