However, many problems arise with the deployment to actual environment. One of the problems is having lost packets when transmitting information between the sensor nodes, which is mainly due to the distance between the nodes. Sensor node has limited energy hence only least complexity programs are used on them. An operating system used for sensor node is TinyOS, which trigger instruction only when events occurred to save energy. Each sensor node communicates with one another through the node ID assigned on them. To avoid lost packets, obstacles between the sensor nodes was minimize to avoid disruption of the transmitting signal. In this report, we would be discussing about the performance of the sensor nodes with regards to different distances and the factors which may affect the transmission. We would also look at various frequency channels performance on each of the distances applied. With the increased in usage of wireless sensor network in the industries, wireless network now have much more mobility.
