Description
Summary:Renewable energy sources are increasingly being considered as viable alternative to conventional supply system, especially in a small country like singapore. Despite our small land area, Singapore is an ideal place for photovoltaic applications as there is an abundance of solar energy throughout the year. This will help us reduce our energy consumption and reduce our carbon footprints. With the cost of Solar PV cells and oil prices rising, implementation of solar panels will be even more viable. Multilevel inverters have become more popular over the years in electric high power application with the promise of less disturbance and the possibility to function at lower switching frequencies. A total of 7 types of laddered inverters and their topologies are proposed and discussed in this project. And the simulation results are obtained with the support of PSIM 8.0.
