Description
Summary:This Final Year Report (FYP) shall attempt to investigate the implementation of Blind Receiver signal parameter estimation on the PXI platform. The project is conducted with hopes of developing a future universal blind wireless receiver for applications to the masses with appeals of robustness, usage flexibility and ultimately cost savings. The report will discuss about the different blind parameter estimation algorithms (Carrier Frequency Estimation, Symbol Rate Estimation, Modulation Classification, phase and timing offsets). The report will also observe the signal properties through the various channel conditions (Additive White Gaussian Noise, and Rayleigh Conditions). This report will then further seek to explore the relationship of Normalized Mean Square Error in the Carrier Frequency Estimation algorithms and the Symbol Rate Estimation algorithms with respect to Sound to Noise Ratio. This is where the author will study the significance of the discovered results from MATLAB simulations and practical experiments and its potential contributions to the future blind receiver
