Summary:Managers are considered the backbone of an organisation and play a critical role in its operations and success. A substantial part of the managers workday is spent assessing and processing information and as such information is a critical resource for their work. The proliferation of ICT and the emerging Internet-based technologies have had a profound impact on the social and technological environment of organisations and manager's work milieu. Consequently, organisations have leapfrogged and transformed into dynamica and complex work environments and managers offered entree to a rich global information ecosystem and empowered to seek information independently in a time-space converged construct.
