梅花意象在《红梅记》中的作用探析 = The role of plum blossom imagery in “Hong Mei Ji”

明代周朝俊的《红梅记》叙述了裴禹与卢昭容的人间情爱，也描写了裴禹与李慧娘的人鬼之恋，而这两条感情线之间则以与奸权贾似道的斗争贯穿起来。 《红梅记》以“梅”命名，而放眼纵观整个中国文化史，梅花拥有非常崇高的地位，它以其临霜怒放的姿态，向世人展现了一种超然高视、凌轹流俗的精神品格，获得了众人的青睐。 剧中的两段感情故事分别由“赏梅”与“折梅”展开，因此“梅花”可说是这部传奇的“戏眼”。尽管作品中“梅花”这一植物意象的出现并不频繁，但笔者却认为这一意象对整个故事的底蕴内涵以及情节发展而言，起着非常大的作用。 《红梅记》里，不论是追求真爱的李慧娘，还是努力争取幸福的裴禹与卢昭容，又或是抵抗贾似道奸臣集团的书生们，都如同梅花一样，散发出坚贞与傲骨的气息。因此，本文将结合中国古典文化中所赋予梅花的审美形象与文化意义，探析梅花意象在《红梅记》的故事情节发展上所扮演的角色。 “Hong Mei Ji” is a Chinese classical drama written in Ming Dynasty by Zhou Chao Jun, telling the mortal love story between Pei Yu and Lu Zhao Rong, and the ghost-human romance between Pei Yu and Li Hui Niang as well as their political struggles with villain Jia Si Dao. In this drama, plum blossom seems to play an important role. This is evident from the usage of the word “Mei” (plum blossom) in the title “Hong Mei Ji”. The two romances in the drama began with either plum blossom-plucking or plum blossom-viewing. Moreover, plum blossom has a special significance in the Chinese culture, symbolising perseverance and purity. These are values that Pei Yu, Lu Zhao Rong, Li Hui Niang and even scholars that oppose Jia Si Dao seem to portray. Therefore, this paper suggests the presence of an allegorical meaning of plum blossom in the drama, in which its cultural values contributed greatly to the development of the story. As such, this paper aims to make a thorough analysis of the role of plum blossom in the drama, “Hong Mei Ji” by studying the aesthetic and cultural point-of-views on plum blossom in the history of Chinese classical literatures.
