Description
Summary:A red heteroacene based sensor 2-(2,6-diisopropylphenyl) benzo [1',10'] [3,8] phenanthrolino [3',2':1,2] imidazo[4,5-b]phenazine-1,3,6(2H)-trione, 1, reported is a multi-anion recognition sensor in aqueous medium. 1 is a colourimetric and fluorescence anion sensor that selectively detects for CN- and F-. The sensor is also coupled with “turn-on” fluorescent recognition with addition of Cu2+. The colourimetric and fluorescent changes enable the visible detection of anions presence via naked eye. Thus, development of 1 will become a valuable asset towards development of better anionic optical sensors that can be used for various applications in the environmental and medical industries for detection of these toxic anions.
