Summary: | Various weak charge transfer salts such as (tetracene, anthracene, and rubrene)-TCNQ compounds have been synthesized and extensively studied and they are promising in the aspect of electrochromic display, electronic devices, sensors and semiconductors. While perylene-TCNQ has been synthesized and characterized, little is known about P2T1, its method of crystallization, research and application potential. More research is needed regarding synthesis of perylene-TCNQ, and this report explains the reason on the parameter selection strategy, solubility and precipitation approach to P2T1. In addition, the examination on the crystal growth of perylene-TCNQ, identification of single crystals and how selected solvent, temperature, mole ratio, solvent volume ratio and supersaturation relate to its crystal type, shape and size. |
